Purchasing Manager (Glass Plant)

Overview
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing procurement activities at the glass production plant. The role ensures cost-effective, timely, and high- quality supply of raw materials, spare parts, technical services, and other goods and services required for plant operations. The position plays a key role in building strong supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with corporate
procurement policies, and contributing to operational efficiency and cost optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the local purchasing strategy in alignment with corporate guidelines.
• Manage procurement of raw materials (cullet, chemicals, packaging), spare parts, consumables, and services.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness.
• Ensure supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
• Cooperate closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance departments.
• Manage procurement budget and deliver cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Lead, motivate, and develop the procurement team of 3 employees.
• Report purchasing KPIs to plant and Group management.

Key requirements

• University degree in Supply Chain, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, ideally in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills.
• Solid understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and supply market dynamics.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred), MS Excel.
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
