Junior Manual QA Engineer - Remote
The Junior QA Manual Engineer will actively participate in our QA processes, focusing on the manual execution and documentation of test cases across various software projects. You will work under the supervision of senior engineers to ensure that all tests are conducted in accordance with established procedures and standards. This role is crucial for those looking to solidify their skills and contribute to ongoing quality assurance efforts within the company.
What You’ll Be Driving:
- Executing detailed test cases and test scripts for various testing phases, including functional, regression, and integration testing;
- Identifying and documenting software defects using defect management tools, providing clear and detailed descriptions;
- Assisting in creating and maintaining test cases and test scripts under the guidance of senior QA engineers;
- Performing manual testing to validate software functionality and identify issues;
- Working closely with developers and other QA team members to understand requirements and ensure software quality;
- Maintaining accurate documentation of test cases, test results, and testing procedures;
- Preparing and managing test data required for executing test cases;
- Continuously improving testing skills and staying updated with new testing tools and methodologies;
- Assisting in setting up and maintaining test environments;
- Ensuring that the software meets quality standards through thorough testing and validation;
- Following established QA processes and guidelines to ensure consistency and reliability in testing;
- Communicating test results and issues to senior QA engineers and other stakeholders effectively.
What Makes You a GR8 Fit:
- Basic knowledge of networking protocols (TCP, UDP, IP), IP addressing, and subnetting;
- Knowledge of email formatting (HTML/CSS) and API testing tools (Postman, Swagger);
- Familiarity with basic GIT commands (status, commit, pull/push, branch);
- Strong knowledge of manual testing techniques, including black-box and white-box testing;
- Basic understanding of email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3) - Knowledge of CI/CD, tools like GitLab;
- Familiarity with UNIX-like systems and web-based applications;
- Competence with test case management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA);
- Ability to follow test scripts, capture results, and report bugs clearly;
- Systematic approach to identifying and documenting software defects;
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
